Owners of suitable cars are invited to register an interest an Historic Sporting Trial to be run by the Midland Trials Car Club on their superb hillside site near Crewkerne in Somerset. The event will be organised at some time in the future when the current Covid-19 crisis is over, and Motorsport UK will issue a Permit.
Unfortunately the new Heritage Trial has been postponed due to COVID-19.

The new Heritage Trial is for early post war open trials cars which conform to the original RAC Trials Formula but are not equipped with fiddle brakes. Do you have for example, an Austin Seven fitted with an 1172 Ford sidevalve engine or, perhaps a V8 trials special or Dellow lurking in your garage?
In 1953 the RAC introduced the National Trials Formula which outlawed some radical post-war specials. Most were probably scrapped, but if any still exist, we would like to hear from their owners and encourage them to bring the cars out again. They would run in a separate class to the Trials Formula cars.
The aim of the Heritage Sporting Trial is to provide an enjoyable event for owners of these early cars. The hills will be long, non-damaging and designed for cars that do not have fiddle brakes.
